At a short-handed BK Iskra Svit, BC Prievidza lead from almost start to finish and show some exciting basketball en route to a valuable 104:85 road win.

The fact that the hosts’ only lead of the game came after 19 seconds already tells the story of this contest. While Svit managed to keep up throughout the first quarter, largely through BC’s defensive miscues and/or Iskra’s one-man offense of Zahir Porter (31 points total), the visitors opened things up in the second stanza and never looked back.

The game saw some noteworthy BC performances: Fellow LSU alum Hunter Dean went into Prime Shaq mode and could never be contained in the paint. He dominated with 31 points, eleven boards and three blocks. Daishon Smith scored an ultra-efficient 27 in only 25 minutes. Slovak national team point guard Dalibor Hlivák controlled the offense and dished out eight beautiful dimes.

Keith Jordan (15 points) joined in on the dunkathon and with only a few minutes to go, even sniper Remu Raitanen (18 points, seven rebounds) turned into Finnish with Authority and threw down with two hands in transition.

With the away win in the bag, the focus will switch to Wednesday now when FIBA Europe Cup group stage play starts with a home game against BC Kutaisi 2010 from Georgia.
